for the sole person who didn't know. i'm in france. i'll be here for 7 months and starting oct 2 i'll be teaching english to some highschool kids in a small town called st. chamond. its outside of lyon which is two train hours south of paris.

.......................

for better or worse, I do like america. but the stuff we export to other countries is all the stuff that fits in a box. this is almost always the worst stuff. pop music, mcdonalds, starbucks, KFC! (fits in a bucket) our TV shows and movies. this wasn't exactly the american stuff that i embraced. i've been to mcdonalds more times in a week and half here than i did for 6 months at home.

i'm not exactly sure what about america i feel like i'm missing (besides home, family, friends) but whenever i have or see anything imported from america it seems to be shiney but have no real substance. i know my home country makes better things than this.

i can understand why other countries don't really like us. the culture we spread or export isn't anything that actually has any soul or heart. instead it is sent out because it sells and greed is universal. we export a cultural plague.

the thing is though, i'm not sure what we should be exporting to change this. there are decent people in america who are putting their heart into creating things, (music, art, poetry, books, movies) but it will never cross the atlantic.

maybe if they had a decent classic rock station on the radio here i'd be a little more mellow.

i'm rambling and i call bull shit on myself. i wonder if i'll believe this stuff in a week.

and to not cop out (i don't think punk out is dead. it just changed to puss out)[though punk is dead]

its truth or dare without the dares. ask me three questions. any three.
and i'll answer. i'll see how honest i can be.

and. any and all pictures of all things french are in my scraps. i'm not saying you should go look. that's your choice. they're just there because to me art=creation.

and with digi photography i don't feel as if i'm creating anything. thus its not art and not worth being in a gallery, even if it is an online gallery that only a small handful of people actually see.

peach out.
